Tending to the country five days before the end of the third phase of the nationwide lockdown is scheduled to end on May 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday said the fourth period of the lockdown will be in a new form. “Researchers state that the novel coronavirus will be a piece of our lives for an exceptionally prolonged stretch of time. In any case, we can’t let our lives stay bound around it. We will wear masks and keep up social distancing yet we won’t let it (the infection) influence us.” The new principles will be declared before May 18, he included.
The Prime Minister announced a total bundle worth Rs 20 lakh crore to manage the financial emergency because of the COVID-19. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will announce the details of the special economic package from Wednesday. “This will assume a significant job in the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’, he stated, including that the declarations made by the govt up until this point, the choices of the RBI and the present bundle adds to Rs 20 Lakh Crores or 10% of India’s GDP.”
PM Modi’s address comes a day after he held a six-hour meeting with chief ministers, from various states, including Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana, and West Bengal, looking for an extension of the lockdown. Others pitched for ease of restrictions and more say in which areas fall under red, orange, and green zones.
