Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her press conference on Sunday announced that the PM eVidya program for multi-mode access to online learning will soon be launched to help children across the country with their studies. She said the program will be launched immediately.
In the program, there will be earmarked TV channels for students from class 1 to 12. There will be special content for visually and hearing-impaired students. The program will help students study and learn during the lockdown so they can be better prepared for their classes and coming up exams. She also announced that the top 100 universities will be permitted to automatically start online classes by May 30th.
