Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called upon Bollywood celebrities to stop endorsing Chinese brands amid the ongoing tension between India and China. Indian and Chinese troops were involved in a violent face off on the night of June 15-16 in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred.
Following this violent face clash, the traders’ body has given a list of 450 categories of Chinese products which they say should be banned in India. The traders’ body also took the unanimous decision to approach celebrities like Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, and others to ask them to stop endorsing Chinese brands including those of mobile phones like Oppo, Vivo, etc.
Secretary of CAIT, Praveen Khandelwal said they will approach these celebrities and will try to motivate them to drop these endorsements of Chinese products. He said they will ask them to respect the mood of the nation and respect our soldiers who are laying their lives on the border protecting us.
He said they expect all of them will understand and will stand will the nation in these tough times.
