Mike Ryan , head of emergencies program at the World Health Organization, in a press conference on Friday said he feels complete eradication of this new coronavirus is highly unlikely and that it seems a far fetched thought right now that this virus can be eliminated completely.

He said looking at the current atmosphere it seems very unlikely that we can eliminate this virus completely.

He further said that by extinguishing the existing clusters of the virus around the world could help the countries around the world potentially avoid the worst situations of having second wave and not moving backwards in terms of lockdown easing.

There are currently more than 140  vaccines being developed around the world for the virus out of which 17 are in the human trials stage out of them 3 are in the last stage of their human trials.
